Folders in Apple’s iPhone OS 4 will allow to group apps in the Home Screen pages.
Creating a folder is as simple as dragging apps on top of each other to group them.
The feature names the folder according to its contents. The iPhone supports up to 11 pages on the home screen, or 180 items. This means that until now, you could keep up to 180 apps on the device. With folders for the theoretical total goes up to 2160 apps — with a maximum of 12 apps per folder.

hi there i have done this with my ipod but it is not working all it does is move my apps side to side can you please help me !!!
Any chance of the Folders app being available for IPad?
I’ve run out of pages.
This feature is now available on iPad as well once you upgrade to iOS 4.
I have too many apps for them to appear on the screen.
I can search an activate any of them, but how can I add such an activated app into any of the folders on the screen.
I suggest you synch your apps with iTunes and make the changes from iTunes in your device details in the Apps panel, since the apps are so many!
