I pulled the data from the Google Analytics and made an overview of where you came from during 2010. Most of the cities on the list were expected but some of them might come as a surprise to you:
1. Rome, Italy
With roughly 2.7 million citizens, once a center of the world where all of the roads led to, protected by its patrons Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Rome leads the list of the cities that generated traffic to Surgeworks.com during 2010. I have a strange feeling that most of these visits come from our mobile team leader :).
2. London, UK
Capital of England, the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom, host of the Summer Olympics next year, is the second city on our list. With a city this big, it comes as no surprise it ranks this high.
3. Paris, France
While Louvre attracts around 8 million uniques par year, Paris sent significantly less traffic to Surgeworks.com, but enough to earn a bronze medal on our list. The city of love and romance, known in the world for it’s large old metal tower offers more than meets the eye. – Optimus Prime
4. New York, USA
The Big Apple, Gotham, The City That Never Sleeps, the home of the statue of the French lady holding a book and a torch lighting a way to the immigra… khm… sailors is the fourth city on our list. Pretty surprising considering the massive population it has, could have been higher on the list.
5. Sao Paulo, Brazil
The largest city in Brazil with metro area population of almost 20 million souls, the host of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, comes in 5th. I hope you develop software as well as you play football.
6. Sydney, Australia
The home to all of the Brazilian designers (to my knowledge), with population of 4.5 million kangaroos (just kidding xD), often prank called by a murderer with a white mask (Hellooooo Sydney!), comes in 6th.
7. Beijing, China
The capital also known as Peking, town founded by homo erectuses 250 000 years ago, the town that probably has more web developers than my country has citizens comes in 7th.
8. Osijek, Croatia
My hometown, the amazing city of Osijek, with massive population of 114,616 people obviously belongs on this list. The city known as almost being a hometown of Branko Ajzele (Magento developer) and known for its bridge that leads to nowhere.
9. Milan, Italy
The largest urban area in Italy and 5th in size in Europe, Milan (Italian: Milano) is 9th town on our list. The town is known for its amazing football clubs A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale Milano (Milan and Inter).
10. San Francisco, USA
The home of Michael Arrington, Marcus Greinke, Bruce Lee, and various tech startups, comes surprisingly low on this list and takes the last spot.
